IMAGES RESCUE ME
Telling stories has been at the center of my life from the very beginning of my career. My first job was in a local newspaper, before studying Advertising and Public Relations in the first place and Audiovisual Communication in the second. Two degrees to achieve home: cinema, filmmaking, and moving images. After 15 years as a journalist, I changed my keyboard to a camera. That was 2011.
I was lucky to be awarded best script in the Sitges International FF for my first fiction short film about the French sculpture Camille Claudel. After that, I directed a documentary about the underground jazz musicians in Barcelona, THE JUMP, released in the In-Edit International FF (Spain) and in Cinema On The Bayou (US). It follows five more short films, above those: the story of a pirate with underwater scenes (FERRYING FEE, written by Erin Donovan); a tribute to ‘Twilight Zone’ selected in more than 20 international festivals, called THE WELCOME; and finally, FEATHERS, about grief, a very personal one, that won First Award in the Size Doesn't Matter Festival from Barcelona.
I love working with museums, but also for advertising campaigns. I'm passionate about telling personal stories and also challenged on the ones that have to be unique.
As a filmmaker, mother of two kids, and activist, I am Vicepresident of DONES VISUALS (donesvisuals.cat), a feminist association to achieve diversity and equity in front of and behind the camera.
